A TRADITION OF GIVING

There are countless ways to give back to Northeastern. By choosing to support the areas that are special and important to them, our donors have transformed the university—and will continue to do so, one gift at a time.

CASEY PICKETT, SSH’13

“My memories here are invaluable: the struggles, the triumphs, my teammates, my coaches—all of it. This place, this community is such a big part of who I am now. Giving back is easy; I can’t imagine myself without Northeastern.”

COLLEGE OF SCIENCE RESEARCH CO-OP FUND

“The hands-on experiential learning built into the curriculum at the College of Science provides students the time to devote themselves to their passion in a supportive environment. By supporting the College of Science Research Co-op Fund, we help add more seats to the table for students from all backgrounds to be at the cutting edge of scientific breakthroughs.”

—Jenn Morrell, PNT’24

JOHN SOLAKIAN, E’59

“I give back because they gave to me at a very crucial time in my life. I was able to go to engineering school, go on to law school, and had a wonderful career. That’s what Northeastern gave me. I worked for it, but Northeastern gave me the tools to do it. Why shouldn’t I help endow that school to get even better, and they have—look at what they’ve done.”

LATINX STUDENT CULTURAL CENTER FUND

“For us, the LSCC is a special place filled with lots of fond memories. This is where we met—during one of the “Cocinar Con Gusto” culinary events. The LSCC truly became a home away from home for us, with staff who welcomed us with open arms and put on fun events. It was and still remains a comfortable, cool space to hang with friends or find a quiet spot to study, and so much more. We were both also very fortunate to have received full-tuition scholarships through the LSCC which allowed for our dreams of being Huskies to become reality. Giving back to the LSCC on a continual basis is our way of showing our appreciation and support for the next generation of Huskies.”

—Jesenia Tejada-Perez, SSH’08, and Calvin Perez, E’10

Ruth O’day, LA’65

“I will always love Northeastern. I give back because as a teacher I taught a lot of youngsters who couldn’t afford college. The fact that I can donate something that will help one of those kids along the way, I think that’s an important thing to do.”

THE LIBRARY DEAN’S INNOVATION FUND

“I contributed to this worthy cause because I really like how they focus on GIS and data visualization.”

—Rashel Masters, Khoury’04

Hillary Gabbidon, SSH’97, MBA’15

“Even though it’s constantly changing, Northeastern will always be a place I can call home. I wouldn’t be who I am now if it weren’t for Northeastern University. I wish I could go back to that shy girl in 1992 and just give her a glimpse of what her life would be like because of Northeastern University.”

NORTHEASTERN BLACK ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP

“I am giving to particularly appreciate the outstanding education I received at Northeastern. I am also contributing towards the success of present and future students, including members of the Black Engineering Student Society (BESS), of which I was a proud member during my time at NU.”

—Barry Henry, E’79

Weijun LI,  E’00, ME’03

“This place, this community is amazing—I am so proud to be a part of it. I give back because I want to support the university; whatever I can do just to help and make the university even better. I know that what I can do is very tiny but giving back is really easy and we can all do it together and it means a lot.”

THE WOMEN WHO EMPOWER FUND

“I support Women Who Empower because I believe in the great vision and impact this initiative has. Advocating for the growth of a strong female community at Northeastern University is essential to ensure the empowerment of future generations.”

—Andrea Dorta, E’20

MARK YORRA, PAH,’78, MHP’96, Edd’12

“This university has changed a lot in the 40 years I’ve been associated with it but it has some of the fundamental structure that has always been the strength of the university. Northeastern has been such a huge part of my life that giving back is something I want to do and it’s easy. And I give back in the way I want.”

CLUB POWERLIFTING

“I donate to Northeastern Women’s and Men’s Club Powerlifting as a proud alumna of the team. I appreciate how the team has fostered an atmosphere for people to grow stronger and more confident. In addition, they are always willing to give back to the local powerlifting community.”

—Kate Driscoll, BHS’17, ’18

DONOVAN HENRY, S’17

“My experiences here on the track and in the classroom are invaluable. When I was about to graduate they started a new lab on campus which really aligned with my experiences that I gained at Northeastern, and was another testament to the immense wide range of opportunities Northeastern has. It’s easy to give back.”
