Honoring a Mentor. Equipping a Generation.

When Douglas DeVivo earned his PhD from Northeastern in 1970, his mentor Barry Karger taught him that scientists must be willing to reinvent themselves. More than 50 years later, DeVivo honored that lesson with a transformative gift—funding the Barry L. Karger Laboratory for Instrumental Analysis and ensuring the next generation of Northeastern chemists learns by doing, on the same caliber of equipment they’ll encounter in the field.
